WHO WE ARE
The International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the highest ethical standards and quality among fine print dealers, and to promoting greater appreciation of fine prints among the public.
Founded in 1987, the IFPDA has grown beyond its original five founders to over 160 elected members in thirteen countries. Election to membership requires a high level of expertise, ethics, and professional integrity, and takes into account years in business, the quality of art offered for sale, exhibitions, and published catalogues as well as community service.
To achieve its mission, the IFPDA supports a wide variety of activities that foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of fine prints. Each year, the organization sponsors the IFPDA Print Fair in New York City, the largest and most celebrated art fair dedicated to fine prints. Through its annual Grants and Program committees, the IFPDA provides funding for educational programs and materials, exhibitions, scholarly publications, lectures, and symposia relating to prints and printmaking from its origins to its contemporary practice. The Annual IFPDA Book Award honors excellence in recently published books or catalogues in the field of fine prints and encourages original research, scholarship and the discussion of new ideas. Members of the Association also provide expert assistance to law enforcement agencies in their investigations of fraudulent or stolen art works.
